I saw a note from a reliable source, suggesting that the very much anticipated IPO for Starlink may be finally coming as soon as by end of this year. This seems to be consistent with what Musk said before, especially fitting into his saying about the cash flow for the company.
“I’m not sure exactly when that [IPO] is, but maybe it will be like — I don’t know, just guessing — three or four years from now,” Musk said at an all-hands meeting of the private company’s employees on Thursday, according to an audio recording obtained by CNBC (Jun 2022).
Now the condition set up by Musk has been met. As such, it is not unreasonable to think about the timing of the IPO!
If you don't know yet, Starlink is not an independent company yet, but rather part of the very successful business within SpaceX. It is estimated that the value for SpaceX is worth over $280 billion and half of which belongs to Starlink. If the IPO is indeed upcoming, we will soon see a spinoff of the Starlink business from SpaceX and no doubt it will be THE biggest IPO in history.
I'm really excited about the IPO. Of course, for most people, there is no chance to directly invest in this pre-IPO business. Are there some ways to indirectly invest in it? I bet yes. I'm searching such opportunities via my contacts in the area.
For TSLA since its IPO in 2010, it has returned for nearly 250 times at its peak. Given Starlink has a more reliable earning model with more stable cash flows, it can be estimated that its trajectory of growth could be more powerful!
