No need to deny, it is extremely depressing for every real conservative to see the mid-election result. The setback for the GOP is huge, and the impact may likely be lasting for a long time. Nevertheless, as a mature investor/trader, one should not let politics influence their investment decision, period!
Here is what I told my DW family on election day:

That's why I placed a few big bets on the day, expecting an overnight bounce. That was exactly what I got:
Nov 4, SPX shot up 3%!
To nearly everyone's surprise, the next day, Nov 5, came with the worst one-day plunge after the 2020 COVID market meltdown:
Nov 5, SPX crashed by 4.5%.
While I didn't foresee the magnitude of the plunge, I did feel the market was bouncing too much in one day and its further upside was very limited. As such, I placed a few short bets on Nov 4. Again, it was a very good call.

I'm not here to brag but just to convey the message that regardless of which side you are politically, your investing/trading decisions should be based on the market conditions, not the political drama. That is exactly what I was also trying to do for my DW family. We booked quite a few good profits in the past few weeks and we even did several profitable day trades as shown below.
