Sometimes the greatest strength you can have in a contest is the incompetence and weakness of your opponent. Trump seems to be the beneficiary of that phenomenon. Whatever Trump's legal, financial and political problems are, he is boosted by the sheer stupidity of his political enemies. This article offers a comprehensive list of the ways Trump's opponents underestimate him and disparage his supporters at their own cost. If Trump is as incompetent, racist, and dangerous as his enemies say, why do 40% of Americans favor Trump under any circumstances? If Trump deserves being indicted on over 90 felony counts, why do his poll ratings and approval ratings go up every time new charges are brought against him? The reasons are many. The pandemic showed that the government lied about masks, social distancing and the vaccines. None of those public health approaches worked.
