Could The Most Dangerous Case Against Trump Just Go Away?
We all know that Donald Trump has been bombarded with lawsuits and prosecutions from all sides in a desperate effort to handicap his presidential campaign and prevent him from becoming president again. There are several civil lawsuits claiming defamation and fraud in the case of business records violations. The fraud case, while civil, is the one Trump is most worried about. The judge declared Trump guilty on the first day of the trial. So much for due process. The entire trial since has been about damages. The State of New York is seeking to rescind Trump's business licenses, place his real estate assets in receivership, and sell them off to the market. In theory, Trump would get the sales proceeds, but the state is seeking $400 million in damages so much of the proceeds of the sales would go right back to the state. Trump would be financially ruined and prohibited from doing business in New York. The other cases are criminal including the Stormy Daniels hush money case, the January 6th insurrection case, the Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, and the election tampering case in Fulton County, Georgia. There are over 90 pending felony charges in all of those cases combined. The Stormy Daniels case is the weakest and may get tossed or Trump may be acquitted. Likewise, the Palm Beach case is weak because all presidents have taken classified documents when they leave office and have the power to declassify them anyway. The January 6th case may also be dismissed on a technicality. The special counsel, Jack Smith, was never properly appointed as a U.S. Attorney so it's not clear he can legally be appointed as a special counsel. That point will be argued to the Court of Appeals and may result in Smith being kicked off the case and the charges being dropped. What about Fulton County, Georgia? This case just had a shocking revelation that may result in the entire case collapsing as well. It turns out (according to court records) that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is leading the case, was in a secret love affair with Nathan Wade. Willis hired Wade to prosecute the Trump case even though Wade had no trial experience is large complex RICO cases. Wade has been paid about $700,000 in legal fees and divorced his wife the day after he was hired. Since then, Wade and Willis have taken exotic vacations and Wade bought a $100,000 silver Audi A8 sedan using the money. The latest reports show that Wade spoke with the White House and the January 6 Investigation Committee staff in the House of Representatives, which suggests political coordination in what is supposed to be the unbiased administration of justice. Wow. That's a lot of conflicts, ethical violations, legal violations, kickbacks and more if all true. This will keep investigators busy for a while. In the end, the entire Georgia prosecution may be thrown out. Here's hoping.
