For the first decade, the largest positions were Coca-Cola (KO), Wells Fargo (WFC), and American Express (AXP). Then Kraft Heinz (KHC) was the largest for a while.
Then Buffett started buying Apple (AAPL) in the first quarter of 2016, initially buying only $1 billion. But, as you can see in the video, the combination of Buffett steadily buying more and the price appreciation from $25 per share back then to Friday's close of $189.46 per share – a gain of more than 650%! – resulted in Apple today being a $173 billion position, equal to nearly half (48%) of Berkshire's $365 billion stock portfolio (which in turn is equal to nearly half (46%) of Berkshire's $791 billion market cap).
